In the summer of 2017, I was a coordinator of the Prospect Development Pipeline for USA Baseball
Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) is a collaborative effort between MLB and USA Baseball to establish an official identification and player development pathway for amateur baseball players in the United States.
In its infancy during my time with USAB, PDP holds baseball events at Major League facilities for top draft-eligible players to be evaluated by MLB scouting personnel. Using advanced technology to compile data about every facet of each player, PDP is at the cutting edge of the baseball world.
During my time as coordinator, I gained experience working with a small team responsible for putting on events across the country in 15 different cities. I was tasked with many key operational duties such as organizing equipment for shipment to the various sites, coordinating equipment setup with ballpark staff at the event sites, and administering cognitive tests to the players at PDP events.
After the events, I also was in charge of organizing and compiling data for individual player reports that were distributed to Major League Baseball scouting personnel and the players themselves.
